According to a YouGov poll, 67 percent of Americans believe that President Trump is responsible for the attack on the US Capitol. Thirty percent believe a theory put forth by the president's allies that Antifa was behind the attack, Forbes reported.
Montana Senator Steve Daines attacked the Antifa theory in a press release.
"Last week's attacks on our Capitol were an assault on our democracy. There is an ongoing investigation, and there is no evidence Antifa instigated the attacks. The FBI believes Antifa was not involved. Those who took part in the violence and destruction are criminals and must be brought to justice," the release said.
